About The Hosts

Imani Davis

A film programmer in Los Angeles, and a producer and writer. At the American Cinematheque, a 501c3 nonprofit boasting over 1,500 film screenings a year, Imani curates, plans, and executes unique and engaging film events. She has worked to put on events with A-list filmmakers and talent such as Sofia Coppola, Sean Baker, Jordan Peele, Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Damien Chazelle, Christopher Nolan, and many more. She founded and programs the American Cinematheque's newest short film festival called PROOF, one of the first ever festivals completely dedicated to proof-of-concept shorts.

Demma Strausbaugh

A writer, director, and producer in Chicago. In everything she does her hope is to cultivate a sense of community and fun. In the past 4 years she has produced (5) short films, a music video, a commercial, and made her directorial debut in 2021 with her short film These Next 10 Years. She is a founding member of the Film Girlz Brunch Chicago chapter and currently serves as a coordinator on the Chicago Independent Film Symposium. Within all her work she prioritizes uplifting female perspectives and cultivating a sense of community.
